WHERE I am TODAY

This morning I had an eye opening realization that instantly brought me in a state of immense gratitude for how far I have come in my own wellness journey. I haven’t visited a doctor's office in over three years (besides yearly checkup for women). I haven’t been to the dentist in over two years (which is probably not the best idea because you SHOULD see a dentist at least once a year for teeth cleaning and not when you are in pain). I used to get root canals and cavity fillings on what seemed like every other weekend. My doctor’s office number was under “favorites'' in my phone. I remember using up all of my “sick days'' not because I wanted a day off like most people but because I was actually sick and had to get help asap.

"LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT FOOD WAS AND IS THE MEDICINE AND THAT THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO HEALTH WAS FOR ME TO REALLY TAKE IT INTO MY OWN HANDS - PROACTIVELY."

I accepted this reality back in the day because I thought that was normal and it was just my genetic predisposition - “oh I have really weak teeth and a poor immune system.” Despite succumbing to the medical system, I wanted all of my health problems to go away and I used to research different types of medications that I could take to speed up the process of my recovery. Like most people (especially within the US) I was force fed media projecting that the only way to health is after the fact, and after I’ve been dealt a hand of ailments. Little did I know that food WAS and IS medicine and that the most effective way to health was for me to really take it into my own hands - proactively. It works faster, better and is cheaper than most prescription drugs out there. Though the saying “here for a good time, not a long time” is cute, it just wasn’t for me anymore.

Wholesome and healthy food has the ability to change your genes and optimize your gut and oral microbiome. I am living proof of this. If a plant is dying and wilting you don’t just paint it green, you have to find the underlying cause of the problem. Now my narrative has changed and I'm always proud to say “I haven’t been sick in ages” because I’ve worked so hard for this new narrative. Given half the chance, the body will heal itself by itself. Trust that your body is programmed to be healthy for you when provided the right building blocks such as organic whole foods, love, movement, stability, spirituality, relationships, career, and a higher purpose.
